VENETIA STVDIVM
Cesendello
Characterized by an elegant
spiral-shaped form, the profile of the CESENDELLO recalls the twist of Islamic
turbans. Quivering and light, the decoration that gives life to the sections
of the lamp, covered with wisp-like ivory silk, is an exquisite and refined synthesis
of the oriental-renaissance themes dear to Fortuny.
The exclusiveness of the floor lamp version - a practical
and functional point of light - is given to the heterogeneity of the materials
of which it is made. A pliant stand covered in Fortuny fabric sustained by a
toroidal volume of dark gray cast iron, which acts as a counterweight to guarantee
its steadiness. Once again Fortuny's extraordinary brilliance stands out and
with admirable balance he creates the first electric floor lamp.CESENDELLO is
also available in the hanging version, by iitself or in multiple compositions.
Scudo Saraceno
Perfectly formed, the line of its shape is similar
to those Ottoman shields kept in the museum of Topkapi, SCUDO SARACENO is spontaneously
compared to the sun. Its sections which are decorated with classic or serpentine
designs start from the center and create a wonderful sun-ray effect.
SCUDO SARACENO comes in three different versions: a
large one whith a blown glass drop hanging from the centre, a medium and a small
one both with a cascade of silk cords and an amber coloured glass gem forming
a tassle that hangs from the centre. It is produced in four colours, ivory, ochre,
light blue and salmon, and two different patterns, classic and serpentine.
It can be suspended or attached directly to the ceiling.
New - Available also without decoration
SCHEHERAZADE
A lamp with a suggestive name that evokes the magnificence
of the Orient as well as the spell of the mythical "Saison russes" by Djagilev,
SCHEHERAZADE reassumes stylistic elements of Chinese flavour and Turkish-Venetian
ornamental motifs. Its three tier structure has the form of an upside-down pagoda
and culminates at the centre with a Murano glass drop. On each of its tiers the
designs are taken from Ottoman textiles, 16th century Venetian fabrics and geometric
decorations.
SCHEHERAZADE can be suspended or attached directly
to the ceiling, is produced in two colours, brown and green, and two patterns,
geometric and floral.
SAMARKANDA
Mantled by a halo of mistery
connected to the difficulties in relation to its reconstruction, SAMARKANDA is
surely the richest in oriental spirit of the whole collection. The central part
of the lamp has the form of a helmet that pinwheels to a rim where an ornamental
disk rests, whose diameter is divided into ten sections and is entirely embellished
with elegant geometric decorations that neither start nor finish which renders
it similar to a rose - window in a Gothic cathedral.
The particularity of the SAMARKANDA is due to the fact
that it can be used with or without the disk.
Available in two patterns, decň and serpentine, SAMARKANDA
can be suspended or attached directly to the ceiling.
